How to implement DSP?

The answer is the right people with the right approach! Implementing DSP in your next product requires several types of specialized talent. But, the talent alone will not bring the product to market. A structured approach to coordinating the project tailored to the special needs of DSP is necessary. Good advice on what realistically to expect DSP to do in your product can prevent wasting funds on dead ends. Application of the necessary talents, when needed, saves labor cost and improves time to market.

DSP Project Planning Support

SIGNALWARE specializes in DSP project planning and technical management. We have experienced engineers on staff to provide systems engineering for DSP projects. We understand overall product design, DSP H/W and S/W, and application engineering for several types of sensors. This experience is necessary to launch a DSP project, guide the project to successful completion and avoid the common pitfalls experienced by many firms first attempting DSP based products.

DSP Specialist Support

SIGNALWARE helps supply the specialized talent needed for a DSP project:

DSP Algorithm Designer - a mathematical specialist who can develop the formulas necessary for the DSP application. These formulas are used to analyze time varying signals in the product to extract the needed information.

DSP Software Engineer - a real-time, DSP software specialist to translate the formulas into DSP programs that run fast enough to perform the signal analysis at the same rate the signals arrive (run in real time). A specialized software engineer is needed to take full advantage of the special features of DSP H/W.

DSP Board Designer - an electrical engineer who can design the DSP printed circuit board used in the product. Although these boards are not difficult to manufacture, they do require a specialist to design them right the first time. Knowledge of both RF and digital design are required.
