Xilinx FPGAs Available in Analog Daughterboards

The SIGNALWARE AED-xxx series of Analog Expansion Daughterboards provide a flexible way to combine analog I/O hardware with several different Xilinx Field Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGA). The daugherboard contain an FPGA with a combination of A/D converters, D/A converters, digital I/O buffers, breadboard area, I/O connectors and power supplies to construct a custom configurable, high speed digital signal processing system.  The reconfigurability of the FPGA provides the digital customization and the breadboard area provides the analog customization.  A Texas Instruments programmable DSP supports the system with traditional (sequential) programmable digital signal processing capability and control.  

The AED daughterboards attach to the Texas Instruments TMS320C5x/C6x Evaluation Module (EVM) or DSP Starter Kit (DSK). Texas Instruments produces several EVM and DSK products that cover a wide range of the DSP models in the TMS320C5x and TMS320C6x product lines. EVMs and DSKs support hardware prototyping and software development with a mother board that connects directly with the daughterboard and a software development environment that supports the DSP programming. Signalware daughterboards fit the TI Cross Platform Connector Daughterboard Interface on the TI board which provides the programmable processor, RAM memory and power. Thus, the developer is able to choose a combination of Xilinx FPGA, TI DSP model and analog I/O that will provide a custom prototype for an embedded FPGA based system.

The Xilinx products are configured through a JTAG connector on the daughterboard that connects with the FPGA programming cables.  Signalware can deliver Xilinx ISE Base X FPGA configuration software at a special introductory price and Insight Programming Cables with daughterboard orders.
